Governor Scottled a delegation of Florida business leaders to Canada,orida’s number one economic partner. While there, the delegation met with more than 120 companies interesting in investing in Florida.
Florida trade with Canada topped $7.1 billion in 2010. Nearly 300 Canadian companies have operations in Florida, with 24,300 high-wage jobs. In 2009, 2.7 million Canadians visited the Sunshine State and spent more than $2.8 billion.
During the trip, the Governor announced Canadian company GardaWorld is relocating its U.S. headquarters to Boca Raton from California. GardaWorld is one of the largest security and cash logistics companies in the world. Their investment in Florida will create approximately 100 professional jobs, with an average wage of more than $65,000.Learn more about GardaWorld’s progress to date.
