State’s first-ever business marketing campaign promotes Florida as a business super-state
ORLANDO, FL(May 22, 2014)– Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI), the principal economic development organization for the state of Florida, today released theTeam Florida Partnership annual reporton the state’s first-ever unified business marketing campaign:Florida. The Perfect Climate for Business.The annual report reviews the campaign’s progress since its inception in January 2013.
“For Florida to take its position as a business super-state and compete on a global basis for game-changing competitive projects, we must have the ability to tell our story,” said Melissa Medley, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of EFI. “The Team Florida partners have done a fantastic job of marketing the state to site consultants and key decision-makers outside of Florida. This campaign helps economic development professionals across the state share Florida’s business benefits and lets business leaders know why they should locate or expand here.”
The Team Florida Partnership launched the state’s first unified campaign to actively promote Florida’s business advantages and create awareness among key audiences, both domestically and internationally. The Partnership mounted the $1.4 million campaign to reach C-level business decision-makers and site consultants worldwide, and to create awareness of Florida’s position as an innovative, business-friendly state.

The Team Florida Partnership is a coalition of the state’s economic development, utility and business leaders who support efforts to promote Florida as a business super-state. The objectives of the Partnership are to provide a framework for working together to raise funds to support an ongoing campaign, and create a mechanism that provides continuity in messaging and promotional efforts over time.
Recognizing the importance of promoting Florida as a business destination, Florida Power & Light was the first partner to join the campaign and invest in the effort. “We can energize economic opportunity by recognizing that we are all in this together,” said Florida Power & Light Company Director of Economic Development Lynn Pitts. “That’s why FPL is proud to be a founding member of the Team Florida Partnership. When Florida wins, we all win.”
