Manny Mencia recognized for working to increase business ties between Florida and Spain
MIAMI, Fla. (June 3, 2016)– King Felipe VI of Spain awarded the “Order of Isabella the Catholic” to Manny Mencia, senior vice president of trade and development at Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI). Mencia received the Order for his work in expanding business ties between Spain and Florida. He was presented with the award last night at the residence of the Spanish Consul General.
“Manny Mencía has been bestowed with a distinct honor by His Majesty King Felipe VI: the Cross of the Order of Isabel la Católica,” said Consul General of the Kingdom of Spain to Florida, the Honorable Candido Creis. “This is indeed a well-deserved recognition for his constant devotion to further enhancing the friendship between the Kingdom of Spain and the United States, and to increasing our commercial relations. Congratulations, dear Manny, for a job well done and for your deep generosity of spirit in moving forward!”
King Felipe VI serves as the Grand Master of the Order of Isabella the Catholic, which was created in 1815 with the intent of rewarding the Spanish citizens and foreigners who contribute to the enhancement of Spain’s relations with the nations of the Americas.

Spain is the world’s ninth largest economy and one of Florida’s top 50 trading partners, with bilateral trade surpassing $814 million in 2014. Over the last decade, it has become one of Florida’s fastest growing foreign investors with more than 300 Spanish companies doing business in our state.
International trade and foreign direct investment accounted for about one-sixth of the state’s economic output last year and supports an estimated one million jobs.
