诺斯罗普·格伦曼chooses Florida for three new facilities, creating a total of up to 3,200 jobs and $672 million in capital investment.
Florida’s partnership with诺斯罗普·格伦曼began more than 50 years ago with the first lunar landing. That relationship continues today with the company announcing a number of game-changing projects over the past two years.
In 2014, Northrop Grumman broke ground on two of five designated Centers of Excellence in St. Augustine and Melbourne, while simultaneously expanding its Melbourne campus to bring up to 1,800 jobs and a $500 million capital investment to the region.
In choosing Florida, the company was able to access a substantial aviation and aerospace talent pool that ranks as the best in the nation by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The company was also able to employ displaced workers from the closing of NASA’s space shuttle program.
诺斯罗普·格伦曼has formed strategic partnerships with leading post-secondary institutions like Florida Institute of Technology and Embry-Riddle, the top aviation and aerospace university in the world, ensuring the company will continue to benefit from Florida’s top-tier workforce for years to come.
Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI), the state’s principal economic development organization, partnered with several state and local agencies to ensure the success of Northrop Grumman’s projects.
Competitive economic development projects like Northrop Grumman’s are vital to creating jobs and diversifying Florida’s economy. EFI works diligently, along with state and local leaders, regional economic development offices, utility partners and community organizations, to expand the state’s economy and promote Florida as a premier business super-state.
