TALLAHASSEE, FL (November 6, 2014)– Today, Secretary of Commerce and President & CEO of Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) Gray Swoope announced EFI will host the Florida pavilion atMEDICA 2014. The two-story pavilion, the largest of any U.S. state at the event, will showcase 25 small and mid-sized Florida life sciences companies and organizations.
“This show is a great opportunity for these 25 companies and organizations to exhibit their life sciences products on an international level,” said Secretary Swoope. “Florida ranks second for FDA registered medical device manufacturing facilities; our universities, institutes and hospitals have some of the best research technology available; and nine of the best hospitals in the country are located here. Florida’s life sciences industry is growing and these companies are a great representation of how strong the industry is in the state.”
MEDICA is the largest medical trade fair worldwide and will be held in Germany from November 12-15. The pavilion will allow companies and organizations to market their medical and healthcare products to an international audience, and demonstrates the innovation and expertise that makes Florida a leader in the life sciences sector. The Florida Pavilion will feature exhibit space as well as room for companies to meet with life sciences leaders and experts from around the world.

Several of the companies attending MEDICA 2014 have traveled to the show with EFI previously. Without assistance from EFI, many companies would not be able to attend and, without the pavilion, would not be as successful in efficiently reaching such a large and important audience.
