EFI has 15 international offices which counsel small businesses looking to export to foreign markets. The offices also identifyForeign Direct Investment(FDI) opportunities for international companies looking to invest or do business in Florida.
In 2013, EFI hosted40 domestic and overseas eventswith 912 small and mid-sized businesses generating more than $775 million in total projected export sales. Eligible small and medium-sized companies can apply for目标部门贸易赠款to help offset costs and enable them to participate in EFI trade shows and select U.S. certified trade exhibitions in new markets that they would otherwise not have the means to attend.
In January, EFI hosted 24 life science companies as part of a Florida pavilion at阿联酋迪拜的阿拉伯卫生. The show is considered to be the second-largest medical trade show in the world and offers exhibitors unmatched networking and sales opportunities with companies in the Middle East and surrounding areas. Florida companies reported $111 million in total projected sales from this year’s show.
EFI was able to provide 11 Florida companies with trade grants that reduced the cost of attending Arab Health. One recipient of the grant wasAlicia Diagnosticsfrom Chuluota in Central Florida. The company manufactures infusion pumps, syringe pumps and ECGs. Parisa Soltani, Director of Sales and Marketing said “Arab Health is always our largest and most profitable event but the show is a great expense, especially for a small company. Grants are imperative to our ability to participate each year. We are very grateful to Enterprise Florida for all that they do.”
